Abstract

Following the intellectual revolution that the Western world witnessed, literary criticism in Algeria was not immune to its influence. It engaged with the ideas of the "Other" and adopted its epistemological foundations and principles without considering its ideological frameworks and tributaries, under the guise of cultural exchange. The process of receiving its methodologies and assimilating its concepts created intellectual confusion among critics. Amid these challenges and the pervasive spread of Western thought within the Algerian critical field, it became necessary to conduct a critical review that would unveil the issues of literary criticism in Algeria, its critical perspectives, and to question it regarding matters of issues methodology and critical terminology.
