Abstract

Autobiography is a modern literary genre that has emerged in the literary scene and has witnessed various developments, especially with the increasing number of writers who write about themselves. Criticism has started to study their works and provided insights to define its boundaries. In our research paper, we aim to trace the forms of autobiographical criticism and apply it to the Algerian writer Faisal Al-Ahmar's autobiography titled "The Secret Cabinet," in order to highlight its artistic features. We will also explore its resemblance to new writing styles and attempt to provide a genre-specific perspective on it.
