The reality of university professors' use of the Moodle platform in distance learning – A field study at University of M'sila.

This study focuses on the use of the Moodle platform in distance education by university professors, by examining the level of platform usage and understanding the reality of how professors at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mohamed Boudiaf University in M’sila use Moodle to deliver their online courses. The objectives of the study were as follows: to identify the level of professors' use of the Moodle platform by measuring the extent to which they rely on it for
distance teaching, and to assess the impact of Moodle usage on the quality of education by analyzing the relationship between the level of usage and the quality of interaction between professors and students. The study sample consisted of 170 professors out of a total of 301 at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mohamed Boudiaf University in M’sila during the academic year 2023/2024. The descriptive-analytical method was adopted, and the following tools were used: a Moodle usage questionnaire prepared by the researcher, analyzed using the following statistical methods: Arithmetic Mean, Standard Deviation, T-Test, ANOVA Test, Cronbach’s Alpha.
The data were analyzed using SPSS version 22. The study reached the following results: the level of Moodle usage in distance education is high; there are statistically significant differences in Moodle usage attributed to gender, and there are no statistically significant differences in usage attributed to academic rank and professional experience.
