Locus of control and its relationship with sports achievement motivation among footballers

Abstract

The study dealt with the locus of control and its relation with sports achievement motivation among footballers, answering the following questions: What is the dominant dimension of the locus of control among footballers? - Is there a relationship between the internal and the external locus of control and sports achievement motivation among footballers.

The study sample consisted of 30 footballers who were asked to answer two questionnaires, locus of control and sports achievement motivation, the study followed the descriptive method. results: the dominant dimension of football players is the external locus of control, - inexistence relationship between internal locus of control and sports achievement motivation, - the existence of a relationship between the external locus of control and sports achievement motivation.

These results present to researchers the possibility of expanding the sample of the study to compare it with the current results, as well as another topic to look at, which is the relationship of the source of control to the returns of players within the field, and other topics worth studying remain arising from this study as the effectiveness of the self and strategies of confrontation and dropping it in the sports side.
