Abstract

The importance of this research comes in that it provides answers to the question of the essence about the term folk poetry, in terms of presenting a set of terms that converge in essence with the essence of poetry in that it is an expression of the elements of civilization and man, and this research is also of great importance as it highlights the emergence of folk poetry In Algeria, it presents historical models that pave the way for the emergence of the latter, and the methods of codifying it, in addition to the names of poets and historians who contributed to the history of the emergence of popular poetry in Algeria. This research will follow the historical-analytical method in presenting the nature of the term and analyzing it historically and socially, and the extent of its conformity with the content of poetry and its origin. Emphasis was placed on the emergence of popular poetry in Algeria, and its history in terms of time and place, by presenting multiple opinions to researchers in the field. .
