Abstract

 Through this research, we aim to present a clear and general view of several issues related mainly to building the desired historical lexicon for the Arabic language, and we also aim to clarify the aspects of benefiting from the available resources in the modern age, which are in the interest of the historical lexicon industry. It is no secret to those who scrutinize and investigate that building this type of dictionaries will undoubtedly contribute to linking the present of the language with its past, as well as contribute to documenting the words of the Arabic language and the connotations of these words, as well as the history of their use or neglect, and the study of the development of their buildings and meanings with the passage of time. In the context of the above proposal; In this research, we will try to stand on the role that the historical lexicon plays in the history of the Arabic lexical units, in addition to showing its great cultural value.
