Abstract

This study examines certain Arabic words and phrases used in the Kanuri language, aiming to explore their meanings and trace their connections and roots in the Arabic language, using several Arabic dictionaries for this purpose. Notably, the researchers provided a historical background of the Kanem-Bornu region, both past and present, highlighting its geographical locations as a prelude to the study and to link the past with the present.
