Contribution of Coping Strategies to the Relationship Between Psychological Stress and Mental Health Among University Professors: A Field Study on Professors of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The current study aimed to explore the contribution of coping strategies, specifically emotion-focused and problem-focused strategies, in the relationship between psychological stress and mental health among faculty members of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at M’sila University. To test the study's hypotheses, a descriptive correlational approach was adopted. The study utilized the Coping Strategies Scale developed by Fatiha Ben Zeroual (2008), the Psychological Stress Scale by Rabia Abdeli and Nour El-Din Jalab (2024), and the Mental Health Scale by Kamal Al-Zubaidi and Sanaa Mujul Al-Hazza (1997). A simple random sampling method was used to select the sample, which consisted of faculty members from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at M’sila University during the academic years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024. After conducting statistical analyses, the study concluded the following: Emotion-focused coping strategies contribute to the relationship between psychological stress and mental health among faculty members of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at M’sila University. Problem-focused coping strategies contribute to the relationship between psychological stress and mental health among faculty members of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at M’sila University.
