International Legal System To Ensure Nuclear Energy Use In Peaceful Purpose

Abstract

 This study dealt with the international legal system to ensure the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, as it is an issue that has the attention of the international community due to the dangers of nuclear weapons that threaten international security and stability, and even threaten all humanity, and the international community has tended to conclude many international agreements and treaties at the global, regional and bilateral levels, which contributed to establishing legal rules aimed at ensuring safe and peaceful use For nuclear energy and the prevention of the spread of nuclear weapons, however there are still existing challenges, especially in light of the accelerated technological development and the contrast of interests between states. Accordingly, strengthening international cooperation and increasing transparency through effective monitoring mechanisms is necessary to ensure the success of this legal system, and several international and regional bodies and agencies are responsible for overseeing this field, including the International Atomic Energy Agency, Atomic Energy Committee, the Disarmed Commission, the European Nuclear Energy Agency (uratom), the Organization for Nuclear Weapons in Latin America, and the Arab Atomic Energy Authority. Coordination between these bodies, as well as state compliance with international obligations, remains an essential element for strengthening global nuclear security and ensuring safe and responsible nuclear energy
