Abstract

The issue of people with disabilities is one of the oldest, most important, and most complex human issues. Disability has never been a desirable condition, and thus, humanity has struggled against it since antiquity. Perhaps the most prominent challenge faced by people with disabilities, as Dr. Klimk explains through his enumeration of behavioral effects resulting from disability, is an overwhelming sense of inadequacy, frustration, and insecurity. In addition to the difficulty of interacting with their social environment, this can sometimes lead to isolation and withdrawal. While educators consider human beings to be of paramount value, this does not mean they should be isolated from society in their activities and work. Rather, they should be active and influential members of their communities and their nation. Islam has given great importance to the care of people with disabilities, providing them with assistance with mobility and transportation. It has emphasized treating them with respect and dignity, considering disability a test from God, as stated in the Holy Quran: "And We will test you with evil and good as a trial" (Surah Al-Anbiya, verse 35). Modern societies have also competed in their efforts to integrate people with disabilities socially and professionally, providing them with the necessary support to develop their personalities and become productive and creative members of society. Furthermore, we observe a growing interest in this issue from international organizations and universities, through the enactment of laws to protect the rights of people with disabilities and the development of policies to train specialists in disability rehabilitation. The media also plays a role in raising awareness about disability issues and how to interact with people with disabilities, thus encouraging their integration as active and contributing members of society. Sports are considered one of the most modern methods for developing people with disabilities, given their impact on various aspects, including developing physical and mental abilities and readiness, rehabilitating damaged muscles, and providing recreation and leisure activities. This research will attempt to highlight the contribution of sports in helping people with disabilities overcome isolation and withdrawal, enabling their effective integration into society. It will also explore their contribution to achieving outstanding results in competitive sports and their ability to control behaviors often characterized by aggression and intense anger.
