Abstract

The study aims to reveal the reality of swimming within women by highlighting the obstacles that prevent most of them from practicing this important sport. In order to uncover this reality, we designed a bipartisan survey at the the Bousaada semi-Olympic pool. the results of the study concluded that several “essential” factors were behind the reluctance of most girls to swim, namely the prevailing customs and traditions in our society and the absence of women to oversee this practice . In addition, the lack of athletic structures to provide women with the necessary privacy to practice this sport, is another element.
