Abstract

This study aims to pursue the first paths of the emergence of the short story in the Maghreb (Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco) as a model, and try to determine the artistic and substantive traits that differed from one country to another. other, as a result of historical and social influences on the form and content of the modern short story, which has remained in place through ancient narrative forms, uses and reproduction, which has allowed us to witness the birth of (the narrative essay) and (the narrative image) as two important links in the chain of development of the short narrative genre.
