These pages examine the manifestations of authority in the Arab political novel, by tracing the
forms of the presence of this authority in the contemporary Arab novel through selected models
that reflect this presence, as a prelude to dismantling the manifestations of power in the novel
The the Leaders state by Ali al-Maqri, which is an excellent model in which the methods of
domination and control come together and collude. It contains opposites to consolidate and
unify power, and from it this paper aims to reach important results related to the nature of the
political novel and the concept of power discourse and the forms of its presence in Ali alMuqri’s novel through the elite’s identification with authority in a satirical tragedy that
furnishes the alphabets of hegemony gathered in the person of the leader by the writer or
novelist, which leads to Revolution and chaos.
