Abstract

The Arabic language encompasses a wide range of forms for expressing meaning in diverse ways, enabling speakers to achieve their communicative intentions. These forms and phenomena are distributed across the various branches of Arabic linguistics—syntax, morphology, rhetoric, and semantics—and manifest as both linguistic and pragmatic features that speakers employ to convey the illocutionary force embedded in their speech.

Accordingly, this article seeks to explore the relationship that may be established between Arabic rhetoric and pragmatics by elucidating the points of entry through which pragmatic linguistics intersects with Arabic rhetorical discourse.
