Abstract

The modern era has witnessed a significant growth in linguistic studies within the framework of cognitive linguistics, leading to the emergence of new fields of knowledge in which linguistic research has moved beyond the sentence to focus on texts as the actual unit through which language is realized. This has given rise to a fully developed discipline known as “Text Linguistics.”

Since cognitive theories constitute a framework grounded in science and experimentation, they enable educators to understand many educational and psychological phenomena, helping them choose appropriate methods for delivering knowledge. They place great importance on sources of knowledge and learning strategies. Moreover, the learner’s awareness of what they have acquired and how they have acquired it enhances their metacognitive activity, making them an active participant in the learning process.
