Abstract

This research aims to shed light on the strategies presented in the book "The Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers: Selected Texts" by Ubaidah Khalil Shalabi. In this book, the author presents the most important strategies that can be used to teach listening skills, which is considered the first skill that helps develop communicative competence. There is no doubt that listening cannot be separated from the other skills, as they are interconnected through cognitive integration.
In line with what has been mentioned, this research seeks to clarify the strategies for teaching Arabic to non-native speakers by relying on a descriptive approach based on description, analysis, and critique, starting from the following research problem:
• What are the most important strategies presented by the author of the book for teaching listening skills? And how effective are they?
