This study aimed to identify and measure the decision-making performance of sports leaders in Jordanian universities' sports departments, and to determine the impact of academic qualification and university on decision-making within these departments. To achieve this, a questionnaire consisting of 28 items was administered to a sample of 25 sports supervisors from four Jordanian public universities: the University of Jordan, the Hashemite University, Yarmouk University, and Mu'tah University. The researcher employed a descriptive survey methodology, utilizing means, standard deviations, percentages, t-tests, Crucial-Wals test, and Tukey's test. The results revealed statistically significant differences in decision-making levels among sports supervisors in Jordanian universities' sports departments, with a tendency towards individual decision-making and a lack of accountability. Statistically significant differences favored supervisors with master's degrees over those with bachelor's degrees, and statistically significant differences were found among the four universities in the decision-making process, with the Hashemite University demonstrating superior decision-making abilities. In light of this, the study recommended emphasizing the need to avoid individualism in the decision-making process, to use the democratic and scientific principles in decision-making, to ensure that the evaluation process in sports activity circles is not limited to one person but is conducted through a specialized committee, and to be careful to neutralize the aspect of personal relationships in the decision-making process.Downloads
