لطالما اعتُبرت الأسرة أهم مؤسسة اجتماعية في الحضارة الإنسانية. وفي سياق الولايات المتحدة، تُمثّل الأسرة نقطة التقاء الهوية الشخصية والتربية الأخلاقية والاستقرار الوطني. إلا أن القرن الحادي والعشرين شهد تغيرات جوهرية في بنية الأسرة ووظيفتها واعترافها القانوني. تسعى هذه الورقة البحثية إلى استكشاف تعريف الأسرة وأهميتها كوحدة اجتماعية وقانونية أساسية في المجتمع الأمريكي، وتحليل التحديات المعاصرة التي تواجهها، وتقييم الاستراتيجيات القانونية التي تبنتها الولايات المتحدة للحفاظ على الروابط الأسرية وتعزيزها. ويُركّز البحث على المبادئ الدستورية والتطورات التشريعية وإصلاحات قانون الأسرة والتفسيرات القضائية التي تُشكّل مجتمعةً الأسرة الأمريكية الحديثة. يجمع النقاش بين منظور سوسيولوجي ورؤية قانونية، مُبيّنًا أن رفاهية الأسرة لا تزال شرطًا أساسيًا لاستقرار الجمهورية.
