Abstract

The present research studies the role of humor in Jordanian literature with special reference to the novel (Returning to Athena) by Omar Tahboub. The study sees that the role of humor in this novel has directed the rest of the other elements within the novel, by adding a humor dimension lived by the novelist to these elements, as part of his vision of a role, the people, places, and relationships that were built among these fictional data. The study considers humor as the subject matter of the novel that resulted in the final image of the fictional act.
