Crowdfunding as an emerging trend to support small and medium-sized enterprises in France

This study aims to shed light crowdfunding as a formula for alternative financing in France, and its role in mobilizing and directing financial savings to support the industrial fabric of SMEs, under the traditional financing system. The study concluded that the formula for crowdfunding was characterized by its growing role in SME finance from its codification to the pre-health crisis phase, which is assessed as an emerging experience with a promising breakthrough given the novelty of the orientation of the formula. The most important results were that the French banking system dominated the financing of the economy, including small, medium and even emerging enterprises, which limited the expansion of crowdfunding, the positive statistics also indicate that there are promising possibilities for developing the crowdfunding formula in France, indicating the potential of this emerging funding source, given its compititive advantages, allowing it to provide financing requirements to SMEs on concessional ters, and for PME to receive most of the financial allocations mobilized under this formula, indicating the nature of this effective combination of of (crowdfunding - PME) combinations.
