Abstract

This study aims at examining the impact of financial technology (FinTech) on promoting financial inclusion in Algerian Islamic banks. It adopts a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews with bank practitioners, analyzed using NVivo 15, focusing on Al Salam Bank–Algeria as a case study.
The findings show that FinTech improves access, usage, and service quality through tools such as mobile banking, electronic payments, and digital wallets, helping reach unbanked populations and reducing reliance on physical branches. However, its impact remains largely limited to basic transactional services, as advanced Shariah compliant products are not fully digitized.
The study also identifies key challenges, including regulatory gaps, weak digital infrastructure, cybersecurity risks, and low financial literacy, which continue to constrain the achievement of comprehensive financial inclusion.
