Abstract:
This research studies the presence of poetry in short story, the extent of its impact on aesthetic and artistic function. Since the structure of the narrative story is based mainly on the energies of prose rather than poetic energies, this makes its study a systematic critical attempt to determine the extent to which the short story maintains its dominant narrative function in the face of any poetic interventions that may cancel out, or reduce its existence. The study of Zakaria Tamer's anthology (Al Qunfuth) has made a field for its applied procedures, adopted in that stylistic approach that would help to detect poetic phenomena in the texts.
