Abstract

The study aimed to uncover the concept of violence and its causes and consequences on the individual and society, and the role of psychological counseling techniques in reducing the level of violence among young people.

The researchers used a descriptive approach to the hypotheses imposed by the literature.

 The study referred to a number of results, the most important of which are:

- Violence has increased significantly among the youth, which is the most vulnerable segment of this dangerous phenomenon.

- Violence in its forms is the result of various reasons, including family, economic, social, religious, psychological, etc.

- Psychological guidance is one of the most important preventive and therapeutic means that can be used to reduce the level of violence among young people because of its methods and techniques studied scientific and institution according to modern scientific research methods.
