Abstract

this research paper aims to identify the most important principles established in Algerian foreign policy and to demonstrate the extent of its effectiveness and the role it played in the regional environment surrounding Algeria, which produced many challenges resulting from the crises in Libya and northern Mali, and the extent to which these threats were reflected in these principles and the general orientations of the Algerian decision-maker. This paper also sought to clarify the efforts to continue and adhere to some principles, such as the principle of neutrality and the principle of non-interference, and to clarify the necessities of change imposed by the surrounding regional environment. The study concluded the necessity of adopting an effective foreign policy in line with the new transformations, and the necessity of reviewing these principles
