Human cell and tissue transplantation between living persons
continues to face a major challenge: immunological incompatibility
between the donor and recipient. This often renders such procedures
impossible in many cases. Despite medical advances, such as the discovery
of immunosuppressive drugs that have increased the success rates of these procedures, the problem persists. With the growing number of donors who
are immunologically incompatible with recipients, legislations have turned
to exploring new methods to address this issue. This has led to the
development of the "cross-donation" system. This study aims to shed light
on the legal regulations surrounding reciprocal donation as an innovative
solution to overcome the problem of immunological incompatibility. This
system has been adopted in Algerian, French, American, and Emirati
legislation. The study concludes that this approach helps reduce waiting
lists and addresses the shortage of donors for transplantation procedures.
