Abstract

Psychological preparation of a player is a fundamental requirement, no less important than physical, technical, and tactical preparation. It should not be limited to a specific category of players or a particular skill level. Like any other type of preparation, it must begin from the very first stage of practicing the game or sport. Since the physical demands and the nature of competition in any sport impose physical, technical, and tactical capabilities on its players, they also necessitate specific psychological traits for each player, and for each position in team sports. These traits must be addressed through targeted scientific procedures to develop and cultivate them by adapting training conditions in all types of preparation to help achieve the desired goal.
