Abstract

The subject of the research revolves around monitoring the reality of the sports journalist’s right to access sports information under Algerian media legislation, in view of the development witnessed by the laws regulating the field of media in Algeria recently, and the democratic gains that have been consolidated after political and media pluralism. The study attempts to monitor the gains achieved by the Algerian sports media from these legislations, which guarantee the citizen’s right to sports information by enabling the sports journalist to access news sources. This is done through the opinions of sports journalists, as they are the actual practitioners of this right and are able to evaluate the effectiveness of the legislations that guarantee this right on the ground.
