Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of physical education activities in developing various forms of social interaction among students aged 18-20 during physical education classes at Ahmed Zabana High School in Algiers. It also seeks to highlight the importance of physical activities and their educational and moral dimensions, as well as their role in shaping the adolescent student's personality, developing their psychological, social, and emotional aspects, fostering a spirit of cooperation among students, improving social relationships, and cultivating a sense of responsibility towards the school's sports team, etc. To achieve these objectives, the descriptive method was used. The original population for this study consisted of 240 students, and the sample size was 25%, equivalent to 60 students. A questionnaire was used as the data collection instrument, and the percentage and chi-square (χ²) tests were used for statistical analysis. This study indicated that most final-year students love and prefer sports, considering them a significant source of recreation. They also possess excellent mental well-being, are characterized by calmness, vitality, and a lack of fear, and experience a sense of psychosocial comfort during physical activity. Furthermore, they enjoy good relationships and exhibit positive behavior.
