Abstract

Our present era is witnessing a massive information explosion, and this explosion has been amplified by the advancement of modern communication methods. Communication and information technology has witnessed rapid developments in recent years, leading to a change in the nature of human life in several aspects, including the economic, social, and cultural aspects. Economic development has become largely linked to the extent to which countries are able to keep pace with and control these transformations. The history of media has recorded a new stage with the emergence of modern technology, which has brought about transformations in the global broadcasting, production, and consumption system by establishing new networks or channels such as the Internet (uncensored two-way mass communication) (3) and smart mobile devices, among others. The world is now experiencing transformations that most researchers describe as the digital revolution, which has an impact on defining the nature of communication, whether in the field of work or entertainment. Internet users at the global level have been constantly increasing, which is embodied in the integration of media and communication. Television channels have been able to broadcast their programs via mobile phones; Thus, the media has been able to impose a different reality on the media, cultural, intellectual, and political levels, through the spread of websites and blogs and the emergence of online newspapers and magazines. Furthermore, technological development is a powerful influence on mass communication, especially audio-visual media, transforming it from local to global, overcoming time constraints and environmental obstacles. It now presents its content in diverse ways, with exceptional speed and clarity, wherever people are present, turning the recipient from passive to interactive, enabling them to influence and control the communication process. The renowned scholar Marshall McLuhan stated that modern communication and information technology is one of the fundamental pillars of our contemporary human civilization. Neglecting its use and failing to benefit from its advantages is enough to plunge any society into the depths of backwardness. At the same time, this technology is being used by some; In order to distort facts and information and falsify the image of life, and to spread illusions or fears to achieve ideological, political or social goals for a particular state or political, economic or social system, and in this study we will work to highlight the reality of the uses of modern communication technology in the field of sports media in Algeria. The study includes three main axes related to modern technological means, as well as the multiplicity of communication channels and finally modern programs and applications. As a conclusion to the study we will put forward some suggestions that can work to benefit from modern communication technology in the field of sports media in Algeria.
