Keywords:
Adapted competitive sports activity and social relationships for the physically disabledAbstract
This intervention aims to clarify the social standing of physically disabled individuals through their participation in competitive sports. These individuals are considered a category of people with special needs, often viewed negatively by society as deficient and marginalized. However, this perception frequently shifts to a more positive one due to the achievements of physically disabled individuals, achievements that many able-bodied people cannot accomplish. Among these achievements is athletic success through competitive physical activity, which attracts the attention of a large segment of society. This often leads to a re-evaluation of many negative attitudes towards this group. Based on the foregoing, we address the following question: "Does competitive physical activity positively impact the social relationships of physically disabled individuals?"
