The efficiency of the multimodal transport system in achieving economic development and developing trade –case of Algeria-

Abstract

In the context of economicglobalization and the acceleration of global growth and development in the field of transport and logistics, it has becomenecessary to pay more attention to the multimodal transport system. Whichisconsidered one of the newest and most efficient transport systems, as the main objective of its application is to decrease the period of transport and othercharacteristics by which the goods are delivered to the final consumer at the best price, on time and with the least loss.

            throughthisstudywewill deal with the application of the multimodal transport ,itsproblems and its prospects in Algeria.

            Wewillreview the national strategy to activate modern and smart mode of transportation systems in Algeria for the horizons 2024-2025 (including the multimodal transport system).
