Moving towards the green economy in Algeria between the benefits of implementation and the challenges of application

Abstract

The subject of the green economy is a vital and important issue to be addressed given its importance for poverty elimination and sustainable development. It has, therefore, received considerable attention from states and international organizations, in particular the United Nations and its various agencies and programs working in the field of environment and development.      

         Through this research paper, we will highlight the conceptual framework of the green economy, clarify its advantages and causes, and focus on the most important policies to be pursued to facilitate and promote the transition to the green economy, as well as trying to identify the most important challenges to the green economy transition. Then, we presented the most important examples and successful experiences of both developed countries and Arab countries in the area of green investment. We concluded our study by highlighting the realities and endeavors of the green economy in Algeria.
