The impact of fluctuations in the exchange rate of the Algerian dinar against the US dollar on local prices in Algeria during the period (1990-2019)

Abstract

This paper aims to study the response of domestic prices in Algeria for changes in the exchange rate of the Algerian Dinar against the US Dollar during the period (1990-2019) and to do so, the self-decline model has been used for the ARDL distributor.

The study concluded that the Algerian dinar exchange rate against the US dollar had a positive impact on the inflation rate in Algeria in the short term, while its impact is negative in the long term, confirmed by the Tuda Yamamoto (Tuda Yamamoto), the study has reached The lack of a causal relationship in both directions between the Algerian dinar exchange rate against the US dollar and inflation in Algeria in the long term.
