Activating the Electronic Health Record in Public Hospitals: Reality and Challenges of Implementation A Field Study at Al-Zahraoui Hospital in M'Sila
Keywords:
Electronic health record, Public hospitalsAbstract
The primary objective of this research paper is to understand the reality of the electronic health record at the Zahraoui Public Hospital and to identify the most significant challenges and difficulties facing its use. We relied on a descriptive approach in our study, conducting several interviews with officials at the Zahraoui Public Hospital and distributing a questionnaire to a sample of 33 employees. The data were statistically processed using SPSSv26.
Through this study, we concluded that the Sahraoui Public Hospital effectively implements the electronic health record at an acceptable level and provides all the necessary infrastructure and human resources. However, implementing the electronic health record faces several challenges, most notably financial, human, and technical challenges at an average level, which can be overcome by using blockchain technology and the national health identification number, developing a strong infrastructure, and training courses for human resources.
