Challenges of Islamic instruments as an alternative to financing the puplic budget deficit in Algeria in the light of the Malaysian experience

Abstract

Algeria, like other countries, suffers from the problem of the public budget deficit and the insufficiency of traditional means in addressing the budget deficit. Therefore, the research came to shed light on Islamic sukuk as an alternative to financing the public budget deficit in Algeria, by studying the Malaysian experience and benefiting from it as a leader in the field of Islamic sukuk financing. It has become clear that Islamic sukuk faces several challenges in Algeria, including the lack of supportive infrastructure, qualified human cadres in legal and economic terms, and the weakness of the legal system for Islamic finance.
