the relationship between renewable energies and CO2 emissions in Saudi Arabia during the period (2000-2020)
Keywords:
Renewable energy, fossil fuels, Carbon dioxide emissions, multiple linear regressionAbstract
The main objective of this study is to measure the impact of renewable energy production on CO2 emissions in Saudi Arabia over the period between (2000-2020), using the multiple linear regression model to analyse the relationship between the following three variables: CO2 from fossil fuels, renewable energy generation and fossil energy production, using the multiple linear regression model in a micro-square. One of the most notable findings is that the production of renewable energies in Saudi Arabia during the study period results in a decrease in the proportion of 0.13 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions per year. Unlike the production of energy from fossil fuels, which contributes significantly to increasing CO2 emissions.
