Keywords:
African Continental Free Trade Area, Intra-African continental trade, petrochemical industry, tariff and non-tariff barriersAbstract
Algeria's accession to an economic bloc has become an urgent need, as this accession contributes to opening new and diversified markets for the marketing of products, especially in the African continent, which has huge potential in various fields, such as natural resources, agriculture and mining resources. By removing customs restrictions, under the umbrella of the African Free Trade Area, intra-African trade can be enhanced. The petrochemical industry is one of the key elements that contribute to the diversification of the economy, as it depends mainly on oil and hydrocarbon resources, which are available primary resources that contribute to the operation of the industrial sector. This industry represents a continuous movement and activity of the wheel of production, and Algeria has made great efforts to develop it, making it one of the promising industries that are reliable in promoting economic diversification in the country.
