The Relationship Between Digital Finance and Cybersecurity: An Empirical Study on the General Management of the National Commercial Bank in El-Beida City, Libya

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the impact of digital finance on addressing cyber risks in the general management of the National Commercial Bank in Al-Bayda city. The study examines the relationship between the main dimensions of digital finance digital finance practices, information security, and digital operations management and data threats, while also exploring the role of employees of cyber risks. The research adopts a descriptive- analytical approach data were collected from a sample of 49 employees through a structured questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using the statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS), and spearmans correlation coefficient was employed to test the relationships among the study variables. The result reveal statistically significant positive correlations between digital finance and information security, digital finance and digital operations management, as well as between information security and digital operations management. These findings indicate that digital transformation enhances operational efficiency, strengthens internal control systems, and supports the development of a secure digital environment within the bank. However, no statistically significant relationship was found between the dimensions of digital finance and data threats. This suggests that cyber risks may constitute an independent dimension influenced by additional organizational and technological factors. The study recommends integrating cybersecurity into digital transformation strategies, upgrading technological employee training and awareness programs to ensure the sustainability and resilience of digital banking services.
