Private libraries and treasury have been an important source for writing local history that many researchers overlook, because they provide us with objective pictures of the local effort, especially in the fields of science, education, judiciary and fatwas. In this contribution, the manuscript documents spread across the libraries of the families and corners of the city of M'Sila presented us with a good picture of the scientific and cultural status of this town
