The french and algerian history schools' dialectic conception of the national movement
Keywords:
Dialectic of Concept, National Movement, The French Historical School, The Algerian Historical SchoolAbstract
Through this research paper, we attempted to address one of the significant topics in Algerian history, and we will address an aspect that, in our opinion, has not always received enough attention. Since historians of the French historical school consciously committed to serving the interests of their country, believing that the best way to control Algeria is to occupy minds, we touched on this topic because we are convinced that the national movement and its concept still require research and reconsideration. This is especially true in light of the subjective practices that these historians engaged in. All they needed to do was adapt Algeria's history to fit their ideology of colonialism. Instead, we aimed to highlight the opinions of the leading figures in the Algerian historical school about the French interpretation of the national movement, determining its origin, and the actual date of its beginning.
