Abstract

The concern for consumers and the quest for effective ways to
safeguard their interests is not a recent development. Since the mid-20th
century, consumer protection has garnered significant attention from legal,
judicial, and jurisprudential circles. This focus has led to the establishment
of numerous regulations aimed at safeguarding consumers across various
sectors, particularly in situations involving excessive debt. One of the
primary challenges for lawmakers in this area is identifying the consumers
who require protection and ensuring that assistance is extended to them as
the more vulnerable party in contractual agreements.
