Abstract

The notary plays a vital and central role, as he draws up contracts and gives them an official character, which gives them the same binding force as final court decisions. The notary's intervention in the drafting and documentation of contracts, whether he has drafted them himself or ratified them after the parties have drafted them, entails important legal consequences. The most striking of these consequences is that these contracts constitute conclusive evidence of the facts and procedures that took place within the limits of the notary's mission or those that took place in the presence of the interested parties.
