لا شك ان الاحداث الرياضية تمثل اهم الاحداث التي تحصل على اكبر متابعة على المستوى العالمي ، سواء عبر الاعلام بشتى انواعه وقنواته او السياحة الرياضية المصاحبة للحدث الرياضي وبذلك تمثل هذه الميزة فرصة للدول المستضيفة للحدث الرياضي لعرض قدراتها التنظيمية والتكنولوجية والحضارية للعالم ، وهو ما يعطي القيمة المعنوية لهذه الدول التي تمثل شرط من شروط الانطلاق في بناء قاعدة اقتصادية متينة ، ولعل اهم المجالات التي تتسابق فيها الدول المنظمة للأحداث الرياضية هي التطبيقات والابتكارات الجديدة في مجال التنمية المستدامة ، حيث يتميز كل حدث رياضي بابتكار جديد في استخدامات الطاقات المتجددة وسبل حماية البيئة والهندسة الحضارية للمنشآت الرياضية والبنى التحتية بالإضافة الى التكنولوجيا المصاحبة للفرد الرياضي ، وهذا اصبح من التقاليد المتعارف عليها في الاحداث الرياضية
