Building and applying the emotional suppression scale for football coaches in the northern region clubs in Iraq from the point of view of their player

Abstract

It has become a focus of attention, in particular, as well as the recent focus of
studies on regulating their emotions. However, a few of these studies focused on the concept
of emotional suppression, so the researchers wanted to conduct a study of emotional
suppression for trainers, so the current research aimed at the following Building a measure of
emotional suppression for football coaches in the northern region clubs from the point of
view of their players in Iraq, and Identifying the emotional suppression of coaches from the
point of view of football players in the northern region of Iraq.
The researchers used the descriptive approach in a survey and correlational style for its
suitability to the nature of the current research, and the research sample included the players
of the northern region football clubs in Iraq for the season 2021 AD - 2022 AD, and the
researchers used the statistical package (SPSS) to reach the results of the research
The following results were obtained.
- Building a measure of emotional suppression for coaches from the point of view of their
players in the clubs of the northern region in Iraq.
-Football coaches have a high degree of emotional suppression from the point of view of their
players.
Through these results, the researchers recommend the following:
- Adopting the emotional suppression scale that the researchers designed on football coaches
from the point of view of their players in the northern region clubs to benefit from it in
evaluating the coach’s psychological condition
-Giving the trainers the freedom to express emotions directly and this leads to not relying on
the strategy of repression as a method for dealing with psychological stress.
