The preparation stance for some defensive skills and their relation to the accuracy of technical performance in volleyball

Abstract

The readiness position is one of the most important steps in the technical performance of basic skills in volleyball, as it determines the correct basic position for the subsequent stages. In order to reach the highest levels and make the student more able to bear the burden of lectures and achieve the best results in volleyball, it has become necessary to pay attention to the readiness position. The importance of the study emphasizes helping those in charge of the educational process to understand the relationship between students' technical performance of defensive skills in volleyball and their readiness position. Because they are volleyball fans, the researchers reviewed some studies that addressed the readiness position in learning the basic skills of volleyball and noticed that those in charge of the educational process did not rely on students' interest and focus in learning the basic skills of volleyball, especially defensive skills. Therefore, this issue must be studied, and the following question represents the research problem: Is the student's technical performance in defensive skills in volleyball related to the readiness position? The main objective is to determine the relationship between the readiness position and the accuracy of the technical performance of the skill of receiving the serve in volleyball for second-year students in the Department of Physical Education at the Faculty of Education. To suit the nature and subject of the research, the descriptive approach was used with the correlational approach, and the most important conclusions were reached after conducting the tests and collecting the results: In volleyball, the readiness position is of utmost importance to master the skill of receiving the serve at the right time and place. In volleyball, the readiness position is of utmost importance to use the skill of defending the court at the right time and place. Priority should be given to the readiness position variable because it is the first and most important factor that directly affects the ability of volleyball players to perform offensive and defensive capabilities.
