Abstract

The quality of the educational process depends on the quality of the teacher's performance, as the teacher is responsible for translating educational objectives into behavioral goals that are reflected in student performance. Therefore, the teacher occupies a central position in the educational system and is considered a crucial pillar of any educational development. The teacher is primarily responsible for achieving the goals of education. Although all elements of the educational system's inputs affect the educational process, the teacher is the key to human development and a decisive factor in the success or failure of education in any society. The majority of scientific studies and research indicate that the teacher is the main and most influential factor in the teaching process and is considered a fundamental and essential input in learning. The success of the educational process and the achievement of its goals depend primarily on teachers. The competent, successful, and distinguished teacher is the one who has been well-prepared educationally and possesses a set of characteristics that enable him to adapt and keep pace with educational developments. The researcher believes that the teacher we want is a role model in the educational process. He is a guide, facilitator, mentor, and evaluator. He should possess the necessary teaching skills and competencies that enable him to perform fruitful classroom work through his ability to control, manage, and organize his emotions, understand and empathize with the feelings of others, positively influence them, and acquire various basic motor skills in his students through his use of various modern teaching methods and techniques. He should also know, diagnose, and monitor his students' abilities until they are evaluated, taking into account the characteristics of their development at different stages. Furthermore, he should be able to use various communication skills that will lead to their acquisition of various basic motor skills in programmed physical education and sports classes. All of these components, to the extent that the teacher is competent, will be reflected positively in his classroom performance. Hence, the importance of our research lies in revealing the nature of the contributions of physical education and sports teachers in imparting various basic motor skills to students.
