Analysis of the impact of the heritage of the World Cup Qatar 2022 on the ability of the sporting institution in Sudan using the indicators of sustainable success according to the international standard (ISO 9004 4th issue 4/2018)

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the ability of sports institutions in Sudan to achieve sustainable success by leveraging the legacy of the Qatar 2022 World Cup in terms of systematic planning and improving sports management systems in Sudan from the perspective of the study sample. The descriptive approach was adopted for the study. The study population consisted of students from physical education and sports colleges and institutes in Sudan, selected using a stratified sampling method, totaling (375) individuals. In addition, (20) employees of the Olympic Committee, academic referees, and experts in sports management sciences, researchers, and media professionals were selected using a probability sampling method based on years of experience and academic qualifications, totaling (120) individuals. The research sample consisted of (515) individuals and (495) individuals for the main sample. The questionnaire was used as the main research tool for data collection, along with personal interviews and a survey. The questionnaire was validated by establishing the validity and reliability of the axes and items, and the study sample was validated by establishing the variance within and between groups. The researchers relied on the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program for data analysis and statistical procedures. The most important results of the study were summarized as follows: The legacy of the Qatar World Cup (2022) contributes to increasing the ability of the sports institution in Sudan to achieve sustainable success and greatly increases the ability to plan systematically and improve sports management systems in Sudan. The shift towards sustainable success requires a radical change at the level of the cognitive model and strengthening the integration of sustainable development efforts and environmental conservation efforts. The most important recommendations were to activate and develop joint cooperation agreements between Sudan and Qatar in a way that achieves sustainable success, within the concept of sustainable competitive advantage.
