Abstract

The current study aims to explore the manifestations of traumatic experience and creative dynamics in amputee adults. The research's significance lies in its belonging to the field of positive psychology, a relatively new approach to studying human strengths and virtues. Faced with destructive and overwhelming forces, there are indicators of counter-psychological activity that ensure the well-being of the self and protect it from collapse. The preliminary results of the study revealed that the traumatic experience of amputation can manifest through the additional factor of "trauma" in the Rorschach test, the scarcity of graduation defenses in the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), and the lack of coherence in depressive issues despite their awareness. Furthermore, the initial findings of this study indicate that amputees can maintain creative dynamics despite the impact of traumatic experience, as demonstrated by their adaptation to panels 1 and 5 of the Rorschach test. However, the rigidity of defenses in the TAT hindered creative dynamics, which appeared weak in the coherence of panels 12BG and 16.
