Abstract

The subject of the research revolves around demonstrating the importance of information and communication technology in reducing the phenomenon of sports fanaticism, a phenomenon that has recently taken on dangerous dimensions in spreading among members of the sports community, especially the youth, as they are the majority group in our society. Therefore, in this study, we wanted to know the extent of the impact of information and communication technology, as it is the most used means among our university youth, especially media such as mobile phones, multimedia, social networking sites on the Internet, forums, and sports websites, which our youth today cannot do without in obtaining their sports information, in reducing and minimizing the phenomenon of sports fanaticism among the university group, and using this technology to raise awareness of the nobility of sports and the importance of sportsmanship in developing the sports level in our country and making it a spectacle that contributes to recreation and advancement, not fanaticism, aggression, and destruction.
