Abstract

In order to advance football in Algeria, we must pay attention to the junior categories and prepare them correctly based on scientific foundations to raise the level towards the best. Based on this deficiency, we took scientific curiosity to research the subject of evaluating the impact of the duties of playing positions and its defensive, midfield, and attacking lines in creating the variation in the physical requirements of football players, considering that physical fitness is one of the important means that work to improve performance in the game, as it is not possible to play at a good level during the match time without physical fitness. The method that coaches currently use to evaluate the levels of their players is mainly based on self-evaluation without resorting to objective evaluation, which is represented in conducting standardized tests and measurements based on scientific foundations. The preparation of standard levels by the researcher can give strong support to coaches to know the level of their players and know the development of their performance during training. Based on the results and statistical analyses, the researcher concluded that there were significant and random differences between the players' positions. There were significant differences in favor of attacking players compared to defense and midfield players in the speed test (30-meter run) and the same result in the standing high jump test. Midfielders achieved the best result in the 12-minute run test (Cooper). As for flexibility and agility, there were random differences between the different positions.
